Debarun Mukherjee at Lakme Fashion Week Winter Festive 2011

‘Kohl’ started the show with a dress which non-too-subtly explained the theme about kohl laden eyes. Sarees, lehengas, dresses and gowns in straight and simple silhouettes were presented on the ramp in fabrics like net, Chanderi, raw silk and silk. Using bold geometric and floral prints, Debarun managed to keep everyone’s eyes glued to the ramp .Keeping glitter and sequinning restricted to blouses, the attraction of the show was the designing and creativity shown through prints on prints. Fluidity was synonymous with elements of drama in this collection.The only colours used during the show were on bags and shoes, not to mention the glittering Cinderella gown as the final entry. Shefali Shah wore a heavily embroidered paisley work saree as the showstopper.
