Ekru by Ekta Jaipuria and Ruchira Kandhari presented their Indian Kaleisdoscope at Wills Lifestyle India fashion Week Autumn Winter 2013 The colour palette was bright and festive. There was a generous use of sequins and pearls. The textiles used in the collection also reflect the same diversity as the colours and motifs used – Matka for Bihar, Chanderi from MP, chiffons borders from Banaras.
The silhouettes were traditional Indian contrasted with Avant Garde drapes, Traditional A- line and tent shapes have been merged with slimed and restrained volume in the lower torso. The collection also flaunted a fair amount of structured jackets, which are layered with Kalidar (panelled) inners and flared Palazzos.
