Joy Mitra is an artist of refined taste, which can be well reflected through his latest Spring Summer 2015 collection ‘The Music Room’. A splendid amalgamation of various classic sorts, Joy’s collection manages to capture the vintage style statements from Satyajit Ray’s iconic movie Jalsaghar (1958).
21st century being age where new designs are born from various art depictions and even music, Joy makes an effort to bring Indian silhouettes to life by drawing insights from an lndo-French heritage. His subtle pastel palettes are mostly comprised of monochromes with an eclectic blend of rarely used sepia tinted cream, romantic pink and lush teal.
We loved the intricate Zardosi thread works on chiffon and georgettes, and the antique embroidery concepts by the designer. The collection is minimalistic yet classic in its approach, giving rise to contemporary ethnic wears in his signature style.
He showcased his French romantic collection at Wills Fashion Week Spring Summer 2015.
